米ミシガン州のEAAがFANUCに公開書簡
5・14FANUC国際行動デーを前に、FANUCアメリカ本社のある米ミシガン州でBDS運動を担うEAA（Engineers Against Apartheid：アパルトヘイトに抗するエンジニア）が、FANUCアメリカに対する公開書簡を発表し、同団体のHPに掲載しました。
なお、5・14には、DSAデトロイト都市圏支部がEAAとの共同行動を準備しています。

国際法および人権を遵守するためのファナックの企業責任について
ファナック経営陣各位
私たちは、ミシガン州に住む住民、労働者、家族として、本書簡を提出します。ファナック株式会社およびその子会社であるファナック・アメリカに対し、パレスチナ人に対するジェノサイドおよび民族浄化への加担をやめるよう求めます。私たちは、同社にとって、イスラエルの兵器産業およびその関連企業からの投資撤退（ダイベストメント）を開始することが最善の利益にかなうと考えています。
多くのミシガン州住民にとって、イスラエルが国際法に対する重大な違反を行ってきたことは明らかとなっています。これは多数の人権団体および国連によって記録されています。2025年7月には、国連特別報告者であるフランチェスカ・アルバネーゼ氏が報告書を発表し、その中でファナックをパレスチナ・ガザにおける民間人に対するジェノサイドへの主要な寄与者の一つとして具体的に名指ししました。
この報告は、ファナックがその社会における利害関係者としてどのような役割を果たしているのかについて、地域社会および国際社会の認識に大きな変化をもたらしました。ファナック・アメリカはこれまで、社会的に有益な未来に投資する企業であると自らを位置づけてきましたが、同社の販売活動や、国際法および各国の対外政策違反を助長する兵器企業との関係についての情報が報じられる中で、このイメージは疑問視されています。
Amnesty International、Human Rights Watch、B’Tselemといった信頼ある機関は、住宅、病院、学校、食料配給施設を含む民間インフラの破壊について、証拠に基づく報告を公表しています。このような大規模で人道的被害を伴う戦争犯罪は、ファナックも関与している製造および産業契約を通じて可能になっているのです。
ミシガン州の住民は、世界各地の多くの人権団体とともに、ファナック株式会社およびその子会社に対し、ジェノサイドへの加担を終わらせるよう求めています。人命の組織的破壊を伴わずとも、長期的な成功と生産性を実現する道は存在します。私たちはファナックに対し、そのような方向性を反映するようビジネスパートナーシップを見直すことを求めます。

RE: Fanuc Corporate Responsibility to Uphold International Law and Human Rights
Dear FANUC Leadership,
We are submitting this letter as Michigan residents, workers, and families that are calling on FANUC Corporation and its subsidiary, FANUC America, to end its complicity in the genocide & ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. We believe it is in the company’s best interest to initiate divestment from the Israeli weapons industry and its suppliers.
It has become apparent to many Michigan residents that Israel has committed egregious violations of international law, as documented by numerous human rights organizations and the United Nations. In July 2025, the United Nations Special Rapporteur, Francesca Albanese, released a report that specifically names FANUC as a key contributor to Israel’s genocide of civilians in Gaza, Palestine.
This report has significantly shifted the perspectives of local and global communities on FANUC as a stakeholder in the success of its surrounding society. FANUC America has historically presented itself as a corporation that invests in a socially productive future, but this image comes into question with information being reported about the company’s sales and affiliation with weapons companies abetting violations of international law and domestic foreign policy.
Reputable institutions such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and B’Tselem have evidence-backed reports on the destruction of civilian infrastructure, including homes, hospitals, schools, and food pantries. War crimes on this large a humanitarian scale are made possible through manufacturing and industrial contracts of which FANUC is a participant.
The residents of Michigan have joined many human rights groups across the world to demand that FANUC Corporation and its subsidiaries end their complicity in genocide. There are avenues to long-term success and productivity that don’t require the systematic destruction of human life, and we call on FANUC to refocus its business partnerships to reflect that.
